Scarlet Rivera

Scarlet Rivera is a classically trained violinist who broke onto the popular musical scene working with Bob Dylan on his 1976 album Desire, and as part of The Rolling Thunder Review. Dylan’s recognition of Scarlet’s genius as a violinist who played like a lead guitarist led him to include her on five of his multi-platinum albums.

Scarlet’s transition to rock music bent all accepted norms, and led to her experimentation with other genres of music, from Rock Fusion and Jazz to Celtic, Latin and New Age and World Music. Her contributions to countless recordings and performances have made a significant impact upon the music of our time.

Scarlet has performed with such popular artists as the Indigo Girls, Tracy Chapman, Brandi Carlile, Emmylou Harris, Keb Mo, Joni Mitchell, Albert Lee, Larry Campbell, and John Mayall.

Scarlet’s 2023-24 Euro tour featured her latest album Dylan Dreams, which is included as one of nine newly remastered albums just released as her Signature Series, now streaming on all platforms.

Scarlet has also just completed a musical collaboration with Viggo Mortensen on his 2024 film ‘The Dead Don’t Hurt’.
