Listen to Our Music

Combining the talents and expertise of world class scientists, composers, musicians, artists, and tech pros, our growing portfolio offers engaging music for everyone while communicating critical insights about the climate crisis.

We invite you to listen, watch, and enjoy our music including our science-guided original compositions as well as science-informed collaborations and music campaigns. We share our music to inspire action, so we’ve created resources to help you make a difference.

Original Compositions

Our original science-inspired portfolio began with “Climate” in 2015, which helped prove the concept that music can inform, engage and motivate. We now have three additional compositions, with a fourth due to premiere this fall. Each composition is the result of a creative process between composers and scientists where climate science is translated into musical elements and woven together into an audible story. All compositions are supplemented with visual animations that contextualize the climate science.

Collaborations

Our collaborations include songs and compositions by musicians who have worked with our science team to inform their artistic process. All pieces are created to reflect a message about a climate issue, with more general insights from the science team. These collaborations have included our work with Oakland-based hip hop artist Khafre Jay, the San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Technology and Applied Composition Program, our songwriters’ workshop series with Music Declares Emergency, and more.

Action Campaigns

Our music campaigns aim to involve musicians and creators from around the world to share their take on one of our climate-minded prompts. In our  “Play for the Planet” campaigns, we asked people “What do we want the future to sound like?” We were inspired by the array of submissions we received. We are excited to launch our latest campaign this summer called “Be Cool!”, which was developed in workshops with songwriters and will involve the voices of young people everywhere.
